HOW Survival Swim Lessons WORK

We teach a muscle memory technique to help your child know what to do in case of a water emergency.

Through repetitive movement and consistent swim training, they learn to find air by rolling to their backs, floating, and breathing calmly until help arrives.

Lessons For Swimmers at every level

At Tiny Fins Survival Swim, we believe in providing every child with the opportunity to learn survival swim skills. That’s why we have lessons for every age and skill level!

1:1 SURVIVAL SWIM Lessons

1:1 survival swim lessons are 15-minute individualized lessons for ALL ages.

Shorter, more frequent lessons is one reason why our program is so effective. Your child will learn true survival swim skills to rescue themselves in a water emergency. Our swim float swim method paired with our gentle approach allows children to grow in confidence and skills around the water.

Infant survival Swim

Infant Survival Swim lessons are highly specialized 1:1 survival swim lessons that teach your baby to roll over from a facedown (submerged) position to their backs to float and breathe.

Infant survival swim provides children the opportunity to learn a life-saving skill, all while building trust and confidence in and around the water.

Our experienced instructors are here to teach your baby survival skills in a gentle and effective way. We believe in allowing children to grow at their own pace, which is why we believe in short lessons with a long-term commitment.

Swim-float-swim lessons

Swim-float-swim lessons are a highly specialized 1:1 sequence designed specifically for toddlers and young children. These lessons are a natural next step after graduating the infant survival swim program, or if your child is just starting lessons and is toddler-aged.

Children in swim-float lessons learn to swim a short distance, keep their face fully submerged, and learn to roll on their backs for rest and a breath of air. Then, they learn to flip back onto their stomach and continue swimming to safety. The goal of swim-float-swim lessons is that a child can find an exit point in a pool and swim-float-swim there safely and save themselves from a water emergency.

Strokes

Strokes is a 30-minute group-class of 3 children ages 5 and up who can swim the length of the pool unassisted. In this class, school-aged children will learn how to swim as a group and around others, dive for toys, learn strokes, and keep their survival swim skills top of mind.

Parent-tot

Parent-Tot Swim is a 25-minute class designed to acclimate your child to the water in a fun and safe environment.

Your baby will learn the very basics in survival swim fundamentals (breath control, forward movement, and floating) while building gross motor skills, bonding, and getting ready for private survival swim lessons.

We recommend parent-tot for ages 6-28 months. We offer both morning and evening classes to fit your schedule!

“The pool at my in-laws worried me. Although we plan to always be attentive, accidents happen when you least expect. Our daughter started lessons at Tiny Fins at 6-months-old and has attended every week for maintenance lessons. At only 2 years old, she is strong in the water. I’m confident she would survive if she fell in the water without me. That gives me great peace of mind!”
